The most visually stunning piece of animation I’ve ever seen, Paprika was based on Yasutaka Tsutsui’s 1993 novel, and was directed by Satoshi Kon (Perfect Blue, Millennium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers and Paranoia Agent). It seems that dreams is Satoshi’s thing…

Paprika delves into people’s dreams, and therapists being able to administer diagnoses based on the occurances that, well…occur in those dreams. An interested concept. They’d have a field day with my noggin!….But mummy, I don’t want to take the monkey from it’s steeple…zzzzz

The Soundtrack from Susumu Hirasawa is equally as stunning. ‘Parade’ sets an amazing frame and feel for the movie.

‘Flying Club Cup’, has been sitting on my desk for months (literally), waiting to see it’s very own private air-time via your’s truly. And, all honesty, it’s been well worth the wait! One of the most beautiful, enchanting journeys into…I don’t know, folk? Acoustic? Any-who, judge for yourself. But please give yourself the opportunity to judge.

Watch out for ‘Nantes’, it’s the one that really sets the mood for the album…
